Go Green! (and go away flu!)

Ugh, what a miserable couple of weeks here with the spread of influenza :-P First my 2 YO, then me, now I think DH has it. I sure hope the other two don't come down with this. Not fun:-(  So, before the projects I started on "expire" I want to post what I have finished.

I started this little guy thinking there was a masculine card challenge I wanted to enter it for but, can't remember. The base is a size A2 using textured Bazzill. I dry embossed most of the patterned paper from an old DCWV spring stack with the Darice St. Pat's folder. The flat bottom I used to stamp the cute sentiment from Scrappy Moms Spring Fling set.  I used the image from the Cricut Smiley Cards cart to make a mug of "green beer". I used scrap black, cream, and a old piece of Bo Bunny dotted CS.  I've been obsessed with this mustache my BFF has in one of her stamp sets Birthday Wishes. I stamped and heat embossed the 'stash in black and popped it on the front of the mug with foam adhesive. Makes me giggle every time I look at him. The whole mug is popped up on the card with an Action Wobble. I think I set the wobble up too high so the bottom keeps hitting the card and stops the wobble. At least it jiggles:-) The twill ribbon is from PTI that I've had for awhile. Thanks for stopping by:-) Have a healthy and creative day:-)

You Are My Sunshine!

Well, I know it's time to clean my scrap room when I find a card that I made for a challenge and forgot to post because it got buried:-/ I used the Smiley Cards "cart" for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge. I really had to be creative with this because I unfortunately didn't have any of her kid related stamp sets. What I did was kind of reverse create - I searched for a sentiment that would be used for a child's card then tried to find a "kid friendly" cut that would go with it. The tag is a die from My Creative Time, also. The patterned card stock is PTI.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative Day:-)

Ouch! Feel Better Soon!

I had so much fun Saturday! An all day crop at my son's school. I was able to work on a birthday gift for my best friend. It's a perpetual birthday calendar I bought from Stampin' Up. I didn't get it all done but, I have until next Friday. I didn't work on any challenge cards so now I'm scrambling to get them submitted. This card is for the Terrific Tuesday Blog Challenge which ends tonight. Yikes! Better upload this one ASAP!

You Rock!

Well, I was trying to find inspiration for Cricut Cardz red, black, and white challenge without being too valentiney (is that a word?). I was reading some blogs and came across Cricut Crafts by Angela's blog. She had done an adorable card for a boy named Charlie who is battling a rare skin condition called epidermolysis bullosa. I knew right away I would do my CC challenge for him. I am really liking the Smiley Cards cart so I used the guitar cut. I think I'm getting the hang of this cart even without the booklet. Thanks to a FB post by My Pink Stamper, I was able to print out a color copy of all of the images. It makes it easier to see how the layers go together. I used SU checkerboard BG stamp and DCWV pp. I didn't have the right size punch so I used George and BS for the star.

Smiley Card for Crafty Emma's Challenge & A Gypsy Tip

I feel like I'm on a roll. Two challenges in a week, yea! Thought I'd try the new Gypsy download for Crafty Emma's Challenge this week. She challenged us with no designer paper. That was tricky. I so wanted to use some DCWV sweet somethings but resisted. Also, a tip I learned. Many of you probably already know but, I was checking my CS layout and tried to view my Gypsy screen and it wouldn't come back up. I started to panic, called Cricut and they said to put the end of a paperclip in the little whole in the back and it would do an override shut off. Whew! Turned it back on and it was working again. Just something to remember if you can't get your screen to come back on. Anyway, not so sure I like the color combo. I couldn't decide what color would look okay (darn challenge). Thought I could get away with embossing and stamping. Maybe you have some color combo ideas to share.
