Monday Challenge - Jump In and Cool Off

Happy Monday to all of you:-) This week at Fantabulous Cricut it's all about stayin' cool. I'm extra excited because Canvas Corp is the sponsor this week and they let the DT play with some of their fabulous products! The instant I saw the goodies I knew I wanted to do an altered composition book. I made this for my daughter to use as a "junk journal" on vacations.

To begin altering my book, I adhered the card stock provided by Canvas Corp to the front, back, and inside covers. I then cut a strip of map from an old atlas, distressed it, and adhered it with Modge Podge to the spine. I then had some fun:-) I took the canvas pennants and colored them with Faber-Castell Gelatos. I used a water brush to blend the colors. After the canvas was dried, I stamped a "splatter" image onto each pennant with black Staz-On. I cut the initials using the Storybook cart out of Canvas Corp's self adhesive cork. I punched out the shell images from the Beach Sampler sheet and used my Making Memories metal tag maker. The "subway sign" was also cut from the Beach Sampler sheet and backed with a frame from the Elegant Edges cart. I tore out a few of the inside pages to give the book a little more space to add "stuff". Since the pages are fairly thin, I glued and gessoed pages together through the rest of the book. I began distressing and embellishing some pages but wanted to leave the majority of the pages for her. I gave her a small bag of "extras" for her to use.

Now go have fun and make a "cool" project for this weeks challenge:-) Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Summer in December

Today's theme at Erica's Cricut Craftroom is all about bringing the warmth to December. For my card I used the Life Is A Beach and Accent Essentials cartridges. I cut the card out at 5" and the flip flops at 3". I used some scrap card stock from DCWV The Colorful Life and some scrap patterned paper from The Paper Studio's a day at the Beach. I added some paper flowers and brads to embellish the flip flops and card. I stamped the sentiment from My Creative Time's Have Fun In The Sun set and cut a tag shape around it. After punching a whole in the tag, I threaded some Basic Grey fibers.

Please stop by Erica's blog to see all of the other fabulous themed projects. Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Starfish birthday card

Now that the big birthday party is over and clean-up is done, I am back to my craft room. Oh my! Did I leave this mess?;-) Well, I'll just leave cleaning this room for another time. For now, I need to create!

This card is for Birthday Sundaes, Bitten By The Bug 2, and Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges. I used the Life Is A Beach cart for the starfish and a background stamp from Stampin' Up. The cardstock is from DCWV Baby Boy Stack & Stampin' Up. I also used twine from The Twinery, starfish charm from Blue Moon Beads, and a sentiment from the S/U Teeny Tiny Wishes set. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creative day:-)

Relax

It seems like I've used this title before... Hmmm, I wonder if it could mean something;-)

I saw this interesting technique at Splitcoaststampers.com and thought I'd try it out with a challenge card. I used the flip flop cut from Life is a Beach cart, baker's twine from The Twinery, Prima flowers, CS from DCWV Mod-Retro stack, brads from S/U, and, of course, Stickles! This card is for Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge, Penny's Challenges, Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge, Paper Cutz challenge, and Simply Sunday.

Relax!

If you are looking for my blog candy post click HERE.

Oh, if only...  Well, at least I can pretend to be on a sandy beach somewhere reading a good book (or two). I combined two challenges for this card; Cricut Cardz beach theme challenge and Paper Playtime's tall card challenge. I used Create a Critter and Life's a Beach carts. Hope you find this card "relaxing":-) Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to check out my blog candy giveaway and have a creative evening:-)

Aloha!

Have you ever started with an idea for a card or layout and ended up somewhere completely different? Well, my inspiration began with a patterned cardstock from the Animal Crackers Stack. The card is for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge,  Life's a Beach. I saw the cute lizard/salamander (what is the difference between the two?) and wanted to use it. After trying to match and coordinate 50 different shades of green then running to Hobby Lobby for more shades, I ended up losing my focus on what I originally wanted to do. After all of that  I realized I didn't have a sentiment stamp that I thought I had. So, the card is a little more "cluttered" than I like and the sentiment is a little out of scale. At lease now I know I need to start looking for stamp sets with lizard puns:-) I also submitted this card to Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge. She required the use of an older cart and the color green. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creative day:-)
