Hello!

Welcome back! Today is my last FCCB DT post for awhile. My DH and I have decided to take the plunge and accept a job promotion to Sydney, Australia! I have gone through a lot of anxiety and excitement for the past three months, but I think I/we are ready. With that being said, my craft room supplies will be on a boat and quarantine for about three months so I will not be able to do much crafting on my blog. I did scope out the Sydney area back in May for craft stores, but they are slim to none. My BFF will need to be my supplier for awhile:-) Thank you Mary!!

For my card I used Lovely Floral and CCR basics to make and size the frame. It was cut from a wood panel patterned card stock. The cute little robin is from IGS Birdhouse stamp set as well as the sentiments. I colored in the bird with my Stampin' Up watercolor pencils (I haven't ventured into the alcohol markers yet - a little intimidated). Now it's your turn to show us what fabulous ideas you have using frames and your Cricut:-) Stop on by the FCCB site to get all of the details and see all of the other fabulous DT projects! Teacher Appreciation Treats

Wow! I can't believe it's Friday! These last few weeks of my kids' school is loaded with activity! This week was Teacher Appreciation Week. There was something everyday for the teachers and staff. The theme is Summer Fun and today is snack day:-) I found the most perfect Cricut die set on Cricut Craftroom called Bag Toppers - Summer. My goal was 80 but only made it to 50 bags. I had volunteered for snack day before I found out about the big 5th grade project due next week (I'll post a pick of that later). Not only that, but I also found out that I'm going with Sydney, Australia for a week with my DH in a week. So, I had to cut back somewhere. I bought some clear cello treat bags at Hobby Lobby, filled them with different popcorns, then stapled the toppers to the bag.

Piano Notes Binder Cover

Welcome to another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge! I will admit I have been wanting to make a cover for my son's piano lesson binder since this summer. Not sure why it took me so long. A little secret {shhhh} this was very easy.

My son loves the color green so I looked through my Expression cart swatches and picked this green pattern from the JT cart. I then used Cricut Craft Room to weld and cut the letters and notes. I used CCR Font and Quarter Note cart to accomplish this. After adhering the layers to together, I did a little white doodling and stamped the cute little Peachy Keen Boy Mates faces with white craft ink. Next, I slid the sheet behind the clear vinyl cover.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #132

Today we are celebrating Columbus Day at FCCB. We want you to incorporate a ship in your project this week. Since I am down on my birthday card stash, I decided to make a fun card for boy. I used the Imagine cartridge, Buccaneer.

I used my 5 1/4" square card template that I've saved in CCR. It is simply two rounded squares from the Boys Will Be Boys cart welded together. I then printed one of the papers from the Buccaneer cart at 5" and adhered it to the green card base. The ship image I printed/cut once along with the birthday sentiment. On a separate layer in CCR, I separated the images and printed/cut the flags, masts, and the word Birthday only. This allowed me to "pop" them up on the ship for added dimension. I had an idea to use some of my misc. buttons to embellish the card but couldn't find any that resembled coins. I ended up finding some trim at Hobby Lobby with "coins" on them. I took two and distressed them with  Pinata alcohol inks after I "roughed" them up a little. And even though it is for a boy, I had to add a little Stickles, Gold for the dot on the "I" and Black Diamond for the port holes.

Happy Fall

It's officially fall and I am so excited! I just love when the humidity goes away and the air becomes crisp. Fall is my favorite time of the year. The colors, the weather, the aromas. My card today celebrates this time of year. I used the Cricut Imagine cartridge, The Good Old Days. I love the retro styled images on this cart. I began by separating the images in CCR and cutting some of them separately so I could pop them up for dimension. I added a little Paprika, Eucalyptus, and Stardust Stickles for some sparkle. The ribbon is from Papertrey Ink. I embossed the orange cardstock with the Geometric Rings Cuttlebug folder.

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

The back to school count down has begun! :-) There's only one person in the Schmitt household that is excited and I'll give you one guess who :-) I love my kids dearly but it will be nice to have time to myself during the day again. I've missed many challenges and I can't wait to get going again:-) My card for today is for the Crop Stop's challenge.

I used Nate's ABCs cartridge along with The Good Old Days Imagine cart to color in the layers. I am really beginning to enjoy using Cricut Craft Room with my older carts. I'm finding it is less difficult and time consuming coordinating colors and styles of card stock. I partially embossed the yellow layer with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and stamped the bottom portion with the perfect sentiment from PTI's Happy Trails set. I snipped off the "tails" on the kite and added some baker's twine for a little more texture. Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Country Life

I love the area we recently moved to. Even though we are in a subdivision, we are surrounded by farms. I love the wide open spaces, seeing all of the beautiful stars in the evening sky, watching the farmers tend to their crops, and listening to the roosters and chickens (as well as enjoying fresh eggs). So for this weeks challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2, I wanted to do a chicken card. Cricut has so many adorable chicken cuts, but I settled on using one from the Country Life cart. I also had fun coloring in the layers using Cricut Craft Room and the Imagine More cart.

The frame and photo corners were cut from the Imagine More cart and adhered to a cream base embossed with the Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Tweetie Hoo Puns set and stamped on a tag die from My Creative Time. I'm also entering this in the Die Cuttin Divas challenge. Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Wedding Bliss

Today's challenge is to create a project for a special couple for a wedding or anniversary. Please stop by the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to get all of the details so you can play along.

For my project, I utilized Cricut Craft Room to make two different sized labels from the Accent Essentials Cricut Cart. I sized one label at 5", copied and pasted it, then resized it a little bigger. The couple came from The Good Old Days Imagine cartridge. I printed the main image as well as just the couple so I could "pop" them up for added dimension.

I have a little trick for making coordinating patterned card stock that doesn't come with the cartridge. Find an image with a patterned background you like, separate the layers in CCR, delete all of the images except the patterned one, make it a little larger than the cut you need, then do a Print Only. Reinsert the card stock and do a Cut Only of the image you want. I did this for the bottom layer. The off white layer was embossed using the Sizzix Small Dots Texturz Plate.

I also added some "antiqued" white seam binding and a little tag with the perfect sentiment from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags set. Oh, and yes, can't forget a little Stickles:-)

Home Decor Hop Day 1

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to Day One of Cicly's Home Decor and More Blog Hop! If you came from the über talented Esther's blog, then you are on the right track. If you just happened to be visiting today, then you'll want to start at Cicly's blog so you don't miss out on all of the goodies:-)

My project for today is Disney Vinyl Bath Decor! Other than the Mickey shower curtain, my boys bathroom seemed void of decor. One of the most fabulous things you can accomplish by utilizing Cricut Craft Room with the Imagine is printing multiple colored layers as one. There are a few little tricks involved, but it makes vinyl projects so much nicer and worth the extra effort. I used the Mickey Font cartridge to color and layer my images. In order to color the Mickey and Donald, I used the RGB codes that Samantha from Scrapmaster's Paradise put together. You need to make sure the "do not weld" is marked as well as hiding the contour cuts from the main layer. The trick is making sure the blackout layer is on a different "mat" and that it is the first layer your Imagine cuts. As soon as it's done cutting (I suggest setting the speed to 2) the blackout layer, you stop your machine. If you don't, it will continue cutting out the rest of the layers. I'll be posting a video on my blog to explain in more detail how I accomplished this.

Now on to the good stuff! Become a follower of my blog and "Like" my FB page. Leave me a comment on this post letting me know you did and I'll put you in a drawing for a brand new Summer Bliss Holiday Cricut cart and clear stamps from Scrappy Cat. Make sure you stop back tomorrow to see my other project and another chance to win.

Now you'll want to hop on over to Shannon's Blog at My Scrappy Creations and see her fabulous home decor project. If you get lost along the way, here is the whole hop line-up.

Birthday Banners

I have finally started working on actual 12 x 12 scrapbook pages. I keep telling myself I'm only getting farther behind, especially since my oldest is 15! My busy mom strategy now is to utilize all of these fabulous layout sketches that are so readily available on the internet. I especially love that I can "pin" it to a specific "board" on Pinterest and access it wherever I'm at. I don't have to use up any extra memory on my laptop either.

I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy to get a quick jump on this birthday layout for when my son turned six. I arranged the layout in Cricut Craft Room and used the Blast Off Imagine cartridge. I just love all of it's fun colors and patterns. For more texture and interest I added some small pieces of ribbon along with bakers twine, hand dyed seam binding ribbon and a button. I'm also using this layout for The Crop Stop, and Die Cuttin' Divas.
