You're So Sweet!

Wow! How a week sure does fly by when there's a sick little person at home. Even though each day seemed endless, here it is Thursday already. I ended up dusting off my poor neglected Gypsy to create today's card. I've been using CCR so much lately because I can use it on my iMac which makes everything easier to see. But, my Gypsy comes in handy sitting next to my little guy while Blue's Clues is on:-)

I used the Walk in My Garden cart along with the dies and sentiment stamp from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags set. I added a few Prima flowers with tiny brads and a little Distress Stickles.

You Are My Sunshine!

Happy Friday! My last challenge card of the week is for Paper Playtime. I used the Better Together Imagine cartridge along with the Elegant Edges cart. Yes, there is a little Cotton Candy Stickles on the cheeks:-) Now I'm off to enjoy this gorgeous weekend. It's been awhile since I've been able to enjoy being outside!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative weekend:-)

Patriotic Birthday

Happy 4th to you my crafty friends and a BIG happy birthday to my precious baby boy! I can't believe he is 2 today:-) So, in honor of my little firecracker, I made this patriotic Elmo birthday card. I admit, I made this very quickly yesterday! I've been so busy getting ready for his party today, I plumb forgot to make his card.

I used three Cuttlebug embossing folders- Candy Cane, D'vine Swirl, and Stars. Elmo is from the Elmo and Friends Holiday Cricut cartridge. I added a little Stickles (of course) to his hat and tied a silver star button with Air Mail twine. I stamped the sentiment on a small piece of white card stock and used my Stampin' Up ticket corner punch.

There are a lot of patriotic challenges this week. Make sure you check them out - Paper Playtime, Fantabulous Cricut Challenge, My Craft Spot, Celebrate The Occasion, Die Cuttin' Divas, and Paper Crafting World.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful holiday:-)

What A Sweetie!

Have I ever said how much I love the Kate's Kitchen Imagine cart? It's the main reason why I bought my Imagine. I am just crazy about 50's design. Before kids (BK), I used to buy up as many '50's vintage and repro fabrics as I could. Sadly, all of it rests in plastic bins waiting to be sewn into fabulous quilts some day. So, in the meantime, I'm playing with these adorable '50's kitchy Cricut designs:-)

For this card, I popped up the treats as well as the background they are on. I "sweetened" the cold treats with Bisque Perfect Pearls and Rock Candy Stickles. Added some yummy Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine and the perfect sentiment from The Scrappy Moms Sweet Somethings set. I'm using this card for Paper Playtime, My Craft Spot,  Celebrate The Occasion, and Scrapalicious USA challenges this week. Be sure to check them out.

You Always Pop Up....

Well, the kids will officially be done with school tomorrow. My oldest was done last week and is currently touring Toronto Canada with her 8th grade class. My second child goes for a couple of hours tomorrow and then is officially a 5th grader! I just don't know when those two grew up so fast! Thank goodness I still have one in diapers to help me feel young;-)

I have a card to share with you today using one of my favorite Cricut carts, Kate's Kitchen. This is the cart that "inspired" me to buy the Imagine. I just love retro, kitchy images:-) I combined a few requirements into this card so I could submit it to Paper Playtime, Bitten By The Bug, and Die Cuttin' Divas blog challenges this week.

I popped up (pardon the pun) the toast with Action Wobbles that I purchased from my local stamp store, The Goose Barn. It's difficult to show in a picture, but when you touch the toast, it wobbles like a "bobble head". I used yellow Stickles for some "electric" sparkle and added two buttons on the bottom with DMC 350 floss. The sentiment is from the Pinch and a Dash set by Scrappy Moms.

Thanks for "poppin'" by:-) Have a creative day!

One in a Melon

I can't believe it's going to be August tomorrow. That means only 3 more weeks until the kiddos are back in school:-) The only problem is that it's still so hot out. Only one of my kids' schools has A/C:-(  I hope it drops into the 70's before school starts.

For this card I used one of my most favorite carts, Simply Charmed. I used my Gypsy to remove the face so it wouldn't cut and used a Boy Mates PK stamp instead. Yes, I think I went a little white gel pen happy and perhaps shouldn't have hi-lighted the face. I really need to take a class on hi-lighting --{with sarcastic voice} -- oh wait -- we don't have a scrap store that does that. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms The Charmed Life set and the patterned cs is from DCWV Nana's Kids. I submitted it to FCCB's Monday Challenge and Paper Playtime's challenge. The Monday Challenge will have a new challenge beginning tomorrow. Paper Playtime will have a new challenge next Monday. They're really fun. Come by and play sometime. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creative day:-)

You Shine!

I took the suggestion from Charity and started using scraps for a challenge card since I had no power (my DH wasn't amused that I asked for a generator just for my cricut & gypsy). The card is 5x5 with coordinating paper strips, 4" x 1-1/4". I was going to use punches and ric rac to make a sun but I wasn't happy with how it came out so I ended up using my cricut to make a cut. The sun is from EDPD and the sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's Sweet Somethings set. This card is for Paper Playtime, Cooking With Cricut, and Wacky Wednesday. There is still time if you'd like to enter any of these challenges. Click on a challenge name and the link will take you there. Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

All-American Happy Birthday:-)

Wow! Has it really been since Tuesday that I posted a project? Time flies when you're taking care of a sick baby and getting ready for his party while the DH is stuck in Calgary:-P So, guess what I did the second he got home? I couldn't get to my craft room fast enough! :-) Here is what I whipped up so I could get it submitted before the deadlines (I've actually stayed up all night at times making cards only to discover I missed the time cut-off).

For this Critcutless card I used a large chipboard star from Stampin' Up (S/U). The smaller faux-button star is paper punch from EK Success. I used a new die I bought from Papertrey Inc (PTI) for the red "ric-rac". The sentiment is also from PTI - Birthday Basics. I used a technique for the stamped image that I saw online awhile back -- alter the shape of a long clear acrylic stamp as you place it on the stamping block. I added some air-mail twine from The Cupcake Social and Stickles. The challenges are Birthday Sundaes, Monday Challenge, Celebrate The OccasionPaper Playtime, Wacky Wednesday, Penny's Paper-Crafty, and Crop Stop. Check out these challenges. There may still be time to play:-) Thanks for stopping by. Have a creative day!

Birthday Invitations

Good evening fellow all night crafters:-) I'm just getting started with the weekend chores and it is 10:30pm! Looks like an all nighter:-( Before I head to Walmart (thank goodness for 24 hour stores) I thought I'd share with you a peak at my son's birthday invites. He will be one on the fourth of July so I incorporated some RW&B. He also likes turtles. I entering this for the Paper Playtime Challenge, too.

For this invite I used Create A Critter for the turtle and part of the hat. I used another cut from Everyday Paper Dolls for the blue part. The balloon cut came from George. The CS is a combo of Stampin' Up, PTI, and DCWV Baby Boy Stack (I like to spread the love<3), Stickles, and airmail twine from The Cupcake SocialOff to start the laundry then head to the store! Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day or what's left of it:-)

Sweet As Can Be!

Some wicked weather we've been having! My thoughts and prayers to all of my crafting friends who are being affected by this terrible weather. As I wait for another storm to approach, I thought I should upload each card as I get them done tonight.

This card took me a little more time than I intended. I started with the cupcake theme and then decided to use it for the Paper Playtime add a charm challenge. I thought I had some food charms, but couldn't find them. I ended up going to Michaels before I had to pick up the kids from school. I found one cupcake charm in the children's craft area. I took the ribbon off of the card and used some PTI grosgrain and bakers twine from The Twinery. I actually like the duo better than the original ribbon I had used. The cupcake cut is from Simply Charmed and the sentiment is from Scrappy Moms "The Charmed Life" set. Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative evening:-)

Relax!

If you are looking for my blog candy post click HERE.

Oh, if only...  Well, at least I can pretend to be on a sandy beach somewhere reading a good book (or two). I combined two challenges for this card; Cricut Cardz beach theme challenge and Paper Playtime's tall card challenge. I used Create a Critter and Life's a Beach carts. Hope you find this card "relaxing":-) Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to check out my blog candy giveaway and have a creative evening:-)

Hello!

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so excited that it's getting closer to Spring:-) I've had my fill of cold and snow and am ready for grass and flowers! I have one card that I am entering in three blog challenges today. I try to do a different one for each challenge, but I'm heading into a crazy weekend and I think my card simply fit will with all three Monday challenges I like to participate in: Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge, Paper Playtime Challenge, and Challenge Me Monday. CCCC required using the Paisley Cart, PPC wanted us to use a cut that represented technology, and the Fantabulous Cricut Blog's Challenge me Monday wanted us to use embossing on our card. I couldn't find the perfect ribbon for my card so I "faked it" and cut a strip of cs to simulate ribbon. I like using at least three different textures on my cards so I made a "phone fob" with fibers and glass beads. Kinda fun:-)
Thanks for stopping by. Having a creative day:-)

Wild about you!

Well, after one week after another of sick family members, including myself, I'm excited to get back to doing challenges. The first one this week is for Paper Playtime challenge. I don't know if you can see it, but there are animal prints inside each circle in the patterned paper. I think it is also hard to tell but, yes, the zebra is purple and white:-)

Purple Dino Valentine

Got all of my groceries this morning and filled up my car. Salt and shovels ready and a list of activities for the kids ready. The big snow is coming tonight and I think I'm prepared for a week of being shut in instead of one day. I was recalling when we were off of school in '79 for over a week because there was so much snow. I think I need to find those pics and post with whatever the kids do in the snow tomorrow.
Here is my entry for three challenges. Cricut Cardz required a Valentine's Day card for a child, Crop Stop wanted us to emboss with folders or stylus in at least two different patterns, and Paper Playtime was an anything goes challenge. I knew I wanted to do a card for my son to put in his lunch box but, when I saw Crop Stops challenge I knew I had to do the T-rex from Create A Critter (just can't get away from this cart). I was able to use folders that I haven't used yet. I purchased them because I knew they would be great patterns for animals. The background you'll recognize as Traffic Jam. I used Tiny Mosaic and Tiny Bubbles on the dino. I couldn't find the exact sentiment I wanted to I used two stamps from Scrappy Moms, the word I wanted from each and stamped onto cs. It took a lot of restraint not to "bling" it up with Stickles or ribbon. My son wouldn't be too happy about that.

Paper Playtime Challenge

Can't wait for my pics to come back to post this. Who knows what chaos tomorrow will bring;-) I found only one place that still prints 3 1/2 x 5's. It's online so I have to wait for snail mail to get them back. My iphoto doesn't give me the option (I'll need to talk to Jobs about this). This submission is for Paper Playtime Blog Challenge. The rules are to use "love" with the paper project. Easy peasy. I was actually working on this 8x8 LO for my youngest's First Year book. He just turned 6 months on the 4th so I'm not too far behind (don't ask me when the last page was I did for my 14 yo).

Paper Playtime Challenge

"If I had more time I'd use a different cart.... " I hear myself saying over and over. I'm not usually the "cutesy" type but I just love this darn Create a Critter cart! It's so quick and easy to use. I should post some of my altered books so you can see I'm more into the "grunge" look. So here is my entry for this weeks Paper Playtime Challenge. EIEIO was the theme.. I just had to do the cow. Not too creative I know but like I said, I don't have much time these days.

Paper Playtime Challenge #9 Anniversary

I really like these Lite carts. Even though I can't get them dirt cheap on Ebay I still think they are a value. The images are very relevant and the layers are easy to put together. It helps a not so artistic person, like myself, make something very satisfying. This 8x8 LO uses the Hoot n Holler Lite cart. I made this not only for the Paper Playtime challenge but also for my DH. Our anniversary is tomorrow (26th) and I thought I'd put a cute pic of us in the frame and give it to him.

Paper Playtime & Paper Cutz Challenges

I had forgotten I made a promise to myself to use these blog challenges as an incentive to get more scrapbooking done. Due to time limitations with a newborn and two other children (and 2 dogs) I've been cheating and doing cards. Now that I'm feeling a little more spunky and Ryan's in somewhat of a nap routine I'm going to pump out some LOs. Simple at first, but at least I'll be closing the 13 year+ gap. This LO is for Paper Playtime & Paper Cutz Challenges. I definitely have plenty of pics for that challengeÜ

Paper Playtime Challenge #10 Miss You

I apologize in advance for the short, uninteresting blog post. I've been running on empty today but really wanted to get at least one challenge done before the week is officially over. I had cut the background out to lay horizontal but ended up putting it on vertically. I probably should have auditioned all of the backgrounds before taping it down. That ATG tape doesn't come off well if you change your mind:-) I added the buttons on the bottom because it looked like it needed something down there. I used the cute lamb from Sugar and Spice Lite cart. I does look a little more juvenile than I wanted it to. Oh, well. At least I got one done. I think I'll try and stay awake and get another challenge done before the next feeding:-)

Paper Playtime Challenge #8 Flower Power

Well, I'm a tad behind (okay very behind) with my blog challenges. This card was rather quick. Not too creative I'd have to say but I wanted to be included in the drawing. I've forgotten how much time newborns demand and how much sleep I demand :-/ I've had this tie-dye paper for a long time and I thought it would be perfect for this "challenge".
