Let Freedom Ring QAL - Row 3

I'm really enjoying being able to take my time with these blocks. Since this row-a-long finishes up in February 2021 I should have plenty of time to get it quilted before July;-) Row 3 is made up of the Patriotic Pinwheel block and the Old Glory block from the Let Freedom Ring pattern by Primrose Cottage Quilts

Let Freedom Ring QAL-Row 2

This month's row is the Sparkler Star Block. This uses a cute patriotic vintage pickup truck along with some flying geese units. I just love this row. Check out the full quilt-a-long instructions on Primrose Cottage Quilt's site.

Let Freedom Ring QAL - Row 1

I am so drawn to anything red, white, and blue that I obviously jumped on this wagon. Primrose Cottage Quilts is hosting a row by row quilt along featuring their Let Freedom Ring pattern. It is a 10 month quilt along which officially began in April with the choosing of fabrics and tools. This month is the Yankee Doodle Dandy Stars row.  I am using the same fabric as Lindsey did called Fireworks and Freedom by Bella Blvd for Riley Blake Designs and Blossom by Christopher Thompson of The Tattooed Quilter For Riley Blake Designs.

(yes, my first row is hanging vertically and then I rotated it)

Minecraft Monday #7 Villager

Happy Monday! I have the Villager block to share with you from Seriously...I think it needs stitches sew a long. I am sewing like crazy now.  I received devastating news that I have breast cancer and need to start chemotherapy right away prior to surgery.  So, my whole quilting timeline has been drastically moved up! I'm fairly close to my brother's and daughters quilt tops being done. So I'm pushing forward with my youngest's Minecraft quilt and hoping to get much done before I don't feel so great.  Here is the Villager block I completed. More to come next week:-)

Minecraft Monday TNT & Grass Cubes

Welcome crafters!  Today I am sharing the TNT & Grass blocks by Seriously, I Think it needs Stitches! Yes, I am sewing out of order. I have the benefit of seeing all of the blocks from the entire sew a long. Since these are fairly quick and easy, I make them in between some of my more complicated quilt blocks that I work on. These two were a little more challenging because of all of the matching seams. Not perfect, but once it's quilted and squished up on a 10 year old, you won't be able to tell:-)

Minecraft Monday #2 Creeper

Today's Minecraft block is Creeper. I'm really having fun choosing colors and piecing these Minecraft blocks. It gives me a break from another quilt I'm working on which has a lot of half square triangles. Squares are a nice change. This is Kelli's 2nd block on her Minecraft quilt a long section. Hop over to her blog to see all of the Minecraft blocks Seriously, I think it needs stitches.

Minecraft Monday #1 Steve

Yes, I'm a bit late to the party, but at least I'm here;-) I was recently introduced to a new quilt blog, Seriously, I think it needs stitches, by Kelli Fannin. I was originally intrigued by her Harry Potter quilt (which I have the fabric for waiting in the wings) and noticed she had done a Minecraft quilt pattern a few years back. Since this quilt looked like just a few pieces per block, I thought I'd start with the Minecraft quilt first. I will be doing most of the blocks out of order since I'm able to pick and choose my favorites now that the official sew along is done.

For my own personal "Minecraft Monday" sew a long I decided to start with the classics. This is my Steve block. It went together nice and quick. Next week I'll work on the Creeper block. My goal is to finish it by next January (front and back) in order to be quilted for my youngest's 5th grade graduation next spring. #Minecraft Monday
