You Are My Sunshine!

Well, I know it's time to clean my scrap room when I find a card that I made for a challenge and forgot to post because it got buried:-/ I used the Smiley Cards "cart" for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge. I really had to be creative with this because I unfortunately didn't have any of her kid related stamp sets. What I did was kind of reverse create - I searched for a sentiment that would be used for a child's card then tried to find a "kid friendly" cut that would go with it. The tag is a die from My Creative Time, also. The patterned card stock is PTI.

Poodle Birthday Card

Okay, I have got to get more creative with my titles:-) Just in a creative word slump today, I guess. Must be the weather;-) Rain, Rain go away, it's Saturday!

The challenges I worked on today are Throwback Thursday and Fabulous Friday. My card was made using the retired Paper Pups cart. This was one of the first carts I purchased because it had the cutest dog that looked like mine.

Hmmm, sort of....

I embossed some Very Vanilla CS with the Swiss Dots folder and layered a piece of DCWV Glitter Stack. I also used My Creative Time's new Curly Label die and a sentiment from an unknown company.  I tied little bows around the balloons with my new Trendy twine that just came the other day. It's two toned:-)

It's sure hard to think about cold & snow when it's 90+ outside with 80%+ humidity. So, to get a little holiday inspiration, I wandered through Hobby Lobby's Christmas displays:-) Really, it was research! {hee hee}. For this card I used the Winter Woodland cart, some cuttlebug embossing folders for texture, a background stamp from Stampin' Up for a subtle pattern, some silver cs for that metallic feel, as well as a little bling for that "icey" feel.

It seems like I've used this title before... Hmmm, I wonder if it could mean something;-)

I saw this interesting technique at Splitcoaststampers.com and thought I'd try it out with a challenge card. I used the flip flop cut from Life is a Beach cart, baker's twine from The Twinery, Prima flowers, CS from DCWV Mod-Retro stack, brads from S/U, and, of course, Stickles!This card is for Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge, Penny's Challenges, Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge, Paper Cutz challenge, and Simply Sunday.

Well, the sun is out today and I'm feeling like getting creative! I made this for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge but, also for our neighbors. It was a tradition when I was little and living in a small Iowa town, to hang May baskets on our neighbors doors. I don't think people really do that anymore. Such a shame. Thanks for stopping by. My Little Lion

Here is a LO of my now 9 month old for his month-by-month scrapbook. Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge gave me the inspiration I needed to finish these pages. There are a lot of cute lion cuts. I had forgotten that B is for Boy has a lion cut. I thought it was cute because my baby is laying just like the cart's lion. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creative day:-)

Have you ever started with an idea for a card or layout and ended up somewhere completely different? Well, my inspiration began with a patterned cardstock from the Animal Crackers Stack. The card is for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge,  Life's a Beach. I saw the cute lizard/salamander (what is the difference between the two?) and wanted to use it. After trying to match and coordinate 50 different shades of green then running to Hobby Lobby for more shades, I ended up losing my focus on what I originally wanted to do. After all of that  I realized I didn't have a sentiment stamp that I thought I had. So, the card is a little more "cluttered" than I like and the sentiment is a little out of scale. At lease now I know I need to start looking for stamp sets with lizard puns:-) I also submitted this card to Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge. Thanks A Melon!

I was happy to be able to get another challenge card done in between school projects and taking care of a sick baby. He just wants to be held all of the time. It's so hard for him to sleep lying down. I hold him for as long as I can until I think he can breathe okay on his back. Poor little pumpkin. I was able to get a school display done of George Washington with my other son. Of course, I used my Cricut, but I had him glue everything down. The same with my daughter's Bulgaria display. I showed her how to cut the letters (no pics of Bulgaria on the Cricut, hmmm) and she put everything together. After that I was able to put together a card for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge. I used the watermelon from the Just Because cart. I don't think I've ever used it before so I was happy to put it to use. The stamped sentiment is from a MPS set.

Purple Princess

What's better than a purple muse but a purple princess! I still have difficulty with the Paper Doll carts. I never know if I'm "dressing" them the right way. There are so many pieces. I am glad I'm getting a chance to use some of that expensive glitter cs I bought for a Disney page I did last year, though. I am submitting this for two challenges, Momo's Tuesday Challenge and Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge. I used PDD cart and embossed the background, hair, and headpiece for Emma's challenge while using the princess cut for Momo's challenge. I went to look for a S/U set that has dragons and castles. It has some wonderful phrase stamps in the set. I was disappointed when I remembered it's probably in the storage unit we were using between moves. Ugh! Too late and too cold to go over there now:-( Gotta submit this before the deadline! Guess where I'll be headed tomorrow;-)

Throwback Thursday Challenge #9

Wow! I got another LO done! Yipee! Only a million more to go;-) I'm counting on these challenges to help me make a dent in my scrapbooking! This LO is for Emma's Throwback Thursday Paisley/Back to school challenge. As you can see this LO is for the pics taken when my son started Kgtn. He starts 3rd grade next Monday. Where does the time go? I have a feeling time is going to escape me even more with an infant in the house.

Throwback Thursday

I am just lovin' these challenges in which we need to do a layout. I'm so embarrassed to say how far behind I am with scrapbooking my children. I got into the instant gratification of card making. It takes me almost a whole day to do a 2-page layout and who has time for that? I'm lucky if I get 30 min of uninterrupted "me" time.

Anyway, this is my entry for Emma's Throwback Thurs challenge. The requirements were to use the Doodlecharm cart and it needed to be a LO. I also used the Stamped cart to weld the year vertically.

Throw Back Thursday Challenge #2

This is for Emma's 2nd Throwback Thurs Challenge. For this challenge we were to use the Stretch Your Imagination cart and use the colors brown, red, and blue. I'm in the phase of using these challenges to get some of my scrapbooking done. I found this perfect paper from My Mind's Eye and remembered the kids had made gingerbread houses a couple of years ago. I'll try and work on the other page later. Need to make the deadline tonight.

Throwback Thursday -Animal Kingdom

Here is my first entry for Emma Aguilar's My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge. I really like this idea of using past Cricut carts. For this card I did use the Animal Kingdom cart along with the Camp Out cart. I distressed the moose with Tim Holtz's distress embossing powder. It looks like real rusted metal. Pretty cool! The background is the Weathered BG stamp from SU as well as the Top Note die and inks.
