Eight Carat Quilt Along Part 1 Finished!

It was so easy making this part of the Eight Carat quilt along.  I used the 4 inch finished Triangles on a Roll from the Fat Quarter Shop. It makes my half-square triangles perfect! I chose the P&B Basically Hugs light gray for my background and Cotton & Steel fabrics for the blues. There isn't much sunshine here today, so hopefully there will be more sun when I show the finished top. #eightcaratquiltalong

I've taken on yet another project this week. I've joined in on the Fat Quarter Shop's Eight Carat Quilt Along. I have yet to perfect my half-square triangle piecing so, I decided this would be a great opportunity to practice. Echinacea Sew A Long

Yes, I'm doing another summer sew a long called Echinacea Field. This pattern is by Kristin of Woolly Petals.  It seems I'm getting more sewing done when I have to be accountable for my progress;-). Last week we had to pick our project and fabrics. I decided to do a runner/wall hanging for my sewing room which consists of 3 blocks. Here are some of my fabric pulls.

Summer Quilt A Long week 2

I am having so much fun with Kate's summer quilt a long! These are a few of my first blocks I made. The "spooky mystery" block is one I threw in to remind Gabby of me. She knows I love those murder mystery novels. This week's prize is from Christopher Thompson, a designer at Riley Blake! How cool is that!!
