A Cherry Hello!

Welcome crafty friends! I was able to get one more challenge card done last night because my DH still had jet lag and went to bed "early":-) This card is for this weeks  Die-Cuttin' Divas challenge. I used my new favorite cart, Kate's Kitchen. I cut the cherries and one of the leaves separately so I could pop them up and used my Chocolate Mocha twine for the stems. The background layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug Nifty Fifties folder. I added the perfect sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Fruit and Veggie Puns set along with a little bit of Stickles.

Patriotic Birthday

Happy Friday crafting friends. It's especially happy for me because my DH comes back from Scotland today. I have to say, I do get more crafting done when he's gone because I can stay up 'til the wee hours. Although, it's probably not the best idea since I need to be in top form in the a.m. for my toddler;-)
For my card today, I used My Creative Time's Build A Banner stamp and die set. I love that Emma designed these herself. It makes my cards look more artistic. I embossed the white background with the Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder and added some airmail twine for the banners to "hang" on. The ink and card stock is from Stampin' Up. I am also using this card for the Celebrate the Occasion challenge.

Sweet Summertime Wishes

Whew!! It's a scorcher here in the Midwest today! Over 100 degrees heat index:-P It's definitely a popsicle day:-) Even though they look refreshing, these popsicles shouldn't be eaten. I printed and cut them from my Imagine using the Yummy cart. The Stickles Rock Candy helps make the popsicles look cold and frosty:-) I tied a little Divine Twine to the "sticks" and added some PTI ribbon. I embossed 2/3 of the green background with the Nifty Fifties Cuttlebug folder. The stamped sentiment is from Joy's Life Sweet Popsicle Puns set. Make sure to check out all of these challenges. There may still be time to play along:-) My Craft Spot and Cricut Cardz.

What A Sweetie!

Have I ever said how much I love the Kate's Kitchen Imagine cart? It's the main reason why I bought my Imagine. I am just crazy about 50's design. Before kids (BK), I used to buy up as many '50's vintage and repro fabrics as I could. Sadly, all of it rests in plastic bins waiting to be sewn into fabulous quilts some day. So, in the meantime, I'm playing with these adorable '50's kitchy Cricut designs:-)

For this card, I popped up the treats as well as the background they are on. I "sweetened" the cold treats with Bisque Perfect Pearls and Rock Candy Stickles. Added some yummy Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine and the perfect sentiment from The Scrappy Moms Sweet Somethings set. I'm using this card for Paper Playtime, My Craft Spot,  Celebrate The Occasion, and Scrapalicious USA challenges this week. Be sure to check them out.

Birthday Banners

I have finally started working on actual 12 x 12 scrapbook pages. I keep telling myself I'm only getting farther behind, especially since my oldest is 15! My busy mom strategy now is to utilize all of these fabulous layout sketches that are so readily available on the internet. I especially love that I can "pin" it to a specific "board" on Pinterest and access it wherever I'm at. I don't have to use up any extra memory on my laptop either.

I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy to get a quick jump on this birthday layout for when my son turned six. I arranged the layout in Cricut Craft Room and used the Blast Off Imagine cartridge. I just love all of it's fun colors and patterns. For more texture and interest I added some small pieces of ribbon along with bakers twine, hand dyed seam binding ribbon and a button. I'm also using this layout for The Crop Stop, and Die Cuttin' Divas.

Congrats To The Graduate!

Now with summer vacation well underway, there are a lot of graduation parties these next few weeks. This is one of the cards I made for a relative that graduated from college. I used the Better Together Imagine Cricut cartridge along with the Everyday Paper Doll cart for the mortar board. I used one of My Creative Time's stamps from the Follow Your Dreams set to create my own patterned CS. I popped up the eyes and wings for extra dimension and added a little baker's twine for a tassel. Yes, that is a smidge of Patina Stickles on the leaves. I'm using this for the Scrapalicious USA challenge this week - I missed the cut-off for a of couple others:-(

Campin' and Relaxin'

After finally getting my Imagine to talk nicely with CCR, I was able to print and cut out this cute little venue from the Enjoy The Seasons Cricut cartridge. I printed and cut the scene once and then printed and cut the trees, fire, and tent separately so I could pop them up for a little dimension. I found some scrap ribbon that I thought looked nice as a transition between the patterned card stock and, of course, needed to add some Stickles to the fire for a little sparkle. I used this card for the Paper ShelterFantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, My Craft Spot, Terrific Tuesday, Celebrate The Occasion, Cardz TV, and Die Cuttin' Divas challenges. Click on each link to view the details of each challenge. There is still lots of time to share your creation:-)

Polka Dotted Birthday

I just have to say - for some reason, I love the look of polka dots. They make me feel happy:-) Why is that? I must Google it sometime. So, as you can guess, I loved making this challenge card. I thought I'd use it for three challenges - My Craft Spot,  CAS-UAL Fridays and The Paper Shelter. I used my Imagine and the Blast Off cart to print the patterned CS and number. I used the Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder to emboss the solid orange. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions set, the ribbon is from PTI, and the baker's twine came from The Twinery.

Thinking of You

I thought I was doing so well with blog postings until I noticed it's been a week already! Yikes! Time flies when you're doing .... what???  Yard work, driving kids all over all day to various activities, clearing out a section of the basement for a drum set?!?! Yes, the DH's drum set is coming home. It has been lovingly stored at his parents house since we've been married, and now it needs to come to mine:-( My 10 y.o. is taking lessons and a drum pad just won't cut it. The instructor says "he needs access to a full set everyday". Ugh!

My card today was made for a couple of challenges, The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge and Celebrate the Occasion. I used my Cricut Imagine and the Berries and Cream cart to print the patterned cs and color the butterfly. I stacked the butterfly image from the Lovely Floral Lite cart in Cricut Craft Room and printed it in one layer. I ended up cutting the butterfly out by hand because since the recent CCR update, my Imagine won't cut anything.  The label die is from Spellbinders and the sentiment and stamped image is from Papertrey Ink. The label is inked with Stampin' Up Peach Parfait and a little bit of Stickles was used on the wings and antennae.
