Happy Monday to all of you:-) This week at Fantabulous Cricut it's all about stayin' cool. I'm extra excited because Canvas Corp is the sponsor this week and they let the DT play with some of their fabulous products! The instant I saw the goodies I knew I wanted to do an altered composition book. I made this for my daughter to use as a "junk journal" on vacations.
To begin altering my book, I adhered the card stock provided by Canvas Corp to the front, back, and inside covers. I then cut a strip of map from an old atlas, distressed it, and adhered it with Modge Podge to the spine. I then had some fun:-) I took the canvas pennants and colored them with Faber-Castell Gelatos. I used a water brush to blend the colors. After the canvas was dried, I stamped a "splatter" image onto each pennant with black Staz-On. I cut the initials using the Storybook cart out of Canvas Corp's self adhesive cork. I punched out the shell images from the Beach Sampler sheet and used my Making Memories metal tag maker. The "subway sign" was also cut from the Beach Sampler sheet and backed with a frame from the Elegant Edges cart. I tore out a few of the inside pages to give the book a little more space to add "stuff". Since the pages are fairly thin, I glued and gessoed pages together through the rest of the book. I began distressing and embellishing some pages but wanted to leave the majority of the pages for her. I gave her a small bag of "extras" for her to use.
Now go have fun and make a "cool" project for this weeks challenge:-) Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)
