Butterfly Thank You

It's all about shaped cards at
 Just Wordz this week!

Even though it's getting colder out and the leaves are turning and trick-or-treating is just around the corner, I just had to do a butterfly. I've been wanting to use the DCWV Colorful Life stack and this was a good time.  I used the Cricut Cake cartridge and my Gypsy to create this shaped card. The sentiment was created using Just Wordz stamps and adhered to the card with rhinestone brads. A super quick and easy card!

Remember to stop back tomorrow for the My Cricut Craftroom's 100 Cart Blog Hop. I'll be giving away a Pink Cricut Tool Kit just for commenting and being a follower! Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Happy Autumn

It sure has been awhile since I've done a challenge card. I've really missed doing them. My DH is in SLC Utah for a couple of months so I'm using my evenings to do fun things:-) This card is for Cooking With Cricut,   The Fantabulous Cricut Wacky Wednesday, Whimsical Wednesday, and Paper Cutz challenges.

I used the Sesame Street Seasons Cricut cart to cut out the leaves. I then embossed them with the Forest Branches Cuttlebug folder. I also embossed the brown CS with the D'vine Swirls folder. The PP is from The Paper Studio Four Seasons and the ribbon is PTI. I must apologize because I do not know who made the stamped sentiment. I remount all of my wood stamps onto cling foam and throw the blocks into a Rubbermaid bin. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creative day:-)

Product Review: My Memories Suite 2

I think I've found the answer to my way-behind-in-scrapbooking dilemma! My Memories Suite 2 digital scrapbooking software actually works with my Mac:-) I've always wanted to try this new media for preserving my family's events but the software was always written for Windows/PCs. After watching some MyMemories tutorials, checking out their website and blog, I ventured into purchasing some downloads. As a Mac user, I didn't find the software as intuitive as iPhoto. But, then again, iPhoto isn't a scrapbook software. What attracted me to this software, besides being Mac compatible, is that there are template options in which you can use your own creativity. You are able to manipulate and arrange all of the images. There is also another option of "quick pages" which are pre-made layouts where  you can drag-and-drop your photos onto the designated section.

This is what I put together
in less than 15 minutes!

My Memories has a wide variety of Designer's in their store. You can easily find a style that suits you. Another plus to this software is that you can use other images with your pages. I haven't ventured into trying this yet but I came across a tutorial that demos this technique. I won't go over all of the options this software has because there are quite a few. You will want to check out their website and blog to see all that this software has to offer for yourself. I encourage you to watch at least one intro video (approx 30 min but packed with info) if you are considering digital scrapbooking. Please feel free to use my discount code STMMMS20900 also found at the top left of my blog. You get $10 off the software plus $10 one time discount at their store!

Thanks A Bunch

Welcome to another Card Creating Sunday for My Cricut Craft Room. My design team card features that adorable Doodlecharms cartridge. If you don't own this one, you most definitely should add it to your library. It has so many images that are so versatile for many occasions. Not only can you cut the images rather small, but the simple image designs make them ideal for cutting fabric as well as fondant in your Cricut Cake machine.

I used solid cs from Stampin' Up and a patterned cs is from Cloud 9 Design . I stamped a woodgrain image onto the brown cut of the basket and inked all of the edges for a little depth. I used some "pop-dots" to raise up the basket and some of the apples. I layered two colors of PTI ribbon and stamped the sentiment from My Creative Time's "Many Greetings" set. Just Wordz Design Team Friday

I'm getting so excited about the arrival of Kimberly's new Just Wordz stamp sets! Don't forget to stop by her site to get the pre-order price before they arrive!

These weeks theme is all about Love. For my card, I used A Child's Year Cricut cartridge. I love using this cart for several reasons. One is that I can choose whatever color theme I want and there is only one cut - no layers (unless you want a shadow). The card stock is a combination of Bazzil and Stampin' Up. The stamped background is from Stampin' Up, also.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Would You Ever Guess Wednesday

It looks like we're in for a nice week here in Northern Illinois. Cool temps and sun. I just love it! Now that the kids are back in school I find myself doing a little more organizing and "fall clean-out" around the house. Collecting all of those "things" the kids don't need or have used in awhile. This is my opportunity to gather these items and remove them from the house without - "Nooo! You can't donate that! I neeeeed it!". If ever they should ask where is - - - - ? My answer will be -- "I'm not sure... keep looking".  I'm such a stinker!

I used the Give A Hoot cart for my Would You Ever Guess Wednesday DT card. This cart has so many interesting flowers and plants on it that you may not even realize it. This image is an Accent key for an Owl image. I did a little stamping and doodling on the flower and popped up the orange layer for some extra interest. I then adhered the flower to some patterned card stock from K & Company's Greenhouse Stack and used a fabulous sentiment from My Creative Time's "Just a little note to say..." set. The stem is tied with a little Pink Sorbet baker's twine and a charm from a special friend.

Dog gone Fun! Blog Hop Day 2

Thanks for hopping over to my blog. Today is day two and if you came from Jess's blog then you are on the right trail. If you are a regular follower and stopped by to see what's happening, you may want to start at Haidee's blog so you can find out how to win a new Apple Shuffle!

This weekend is all about Dog Rescue awareness. To see my story about my rescued dogs click HERE. Today I'll be introducing you to my current dog, Emjay. Well, what can I say? He's not your typical West Highland Terrier. He has super fluffy fur and is scared of anything smaller than he is (especially flies). How did I come about his name you ask? Well, Chicago Bulls fan - Michael Jordan - MJ - ergo the phonetic spelling - Emjay.

After losing my first dog, Banco, along with having difficulty becoming pregnant, I decided to get another dog. We ended up buying one from the breeder we had adopted our previous two Westies from.  And then.... a month later.... guess who was pregnant?! That was one busy year!

Emjay

For my project today I made a "Doggie Bag" to put Emjay's toys, food, and leash in when we take him to the kennel. I used the Mickey Font cart for the bone and letters. I first cut a piece of fabric to the approximate size I needed, then I ironed on a piece of Steam and Seam 2 to the back side. I placed the pieces on a very sticky Cricut mat and loaded it into my Expression. I used a regular blade with my depth at 4, my speed at 3, and my pressure at 4. After the images were cut I simply peeled off the backing and ironed it onto my bag (purchased at Hobby Lobby on sale).

Please leave a comment and let me know what types of projects you have made for your pet. Make sure you're a follower also to be eligible for Haidee's hop prize candy:-) Thanks for hopping by! Your next stop is Janet at Lady Luv Bug :-)

Dog Gone Fun! Blog Hop Day 1

Thanks for hopping over to my blog. If you came from Jess's blog then you are on the right trail. If you are a regular follower and checking in, you may want to start at Haidee's blog so you can find out how to win a new Apple Shuffle!

This weekend is all about dog rescue awareness. My family and I have rescued two dogs, both of which have since passed away. Banco, my first rescued Westie, was the love of my life. He was the Omega of all Omega dogs. All he wanted to do was run and play. He was rescued by a State Trooper along with his siblings from a truck, possibly from a puppy mill. The driver had no proof of ownership, as well as, the puppies did not look well cared for. The Trooper confiscated the dogs and brought then to the local Westie rescue society. Banco was very sick and wasn't supposed to survive past a couple of years. We had him for roughly 6 years until he developed liver cirrhosis. Our other Westie, Minnie, was taken back by her breeder because the Dalamation in the family was getting into serious fights with Minnie. The breeder, who we also got Banco from, contacted us about Minnie. She had noticed that Banco and Minnie got along very well when they were boarding with her. She thought Minnie would be better with us.

For today's project I made a double-sided Christmas ornament of Banco and Minnie. I used the scalloped and circle Nestabilities dies to cut out the glittered card stock shapes. I used a 1" circle punch to cut out my dogs faces. I adhered each face to the inside of two flattened crafting bottle caps. The silver twine was adhered in-between the two caps and the die-cut glittered CS. I added self-adhesive rhinestones and a wired-ribbon bow.

Just The Best

Today I made another CAS card for JustWordz design team Friday. I used S/U's Chocolate Chip CS with Grapefruit and Pomagranate from Bazzil. I embossed the Grapefruit with the Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder, punched the edges with a scalloped border punch and layered a piece of PP from Echo Park on top. I stamped my sentiment with Rich Cocoa Memento ink.

Theme Day Thursday Baby Layout

Today's theme at My Cricut Craft Room (if you haven't guessed already) is "Baby". These are the first two pages for my youngest's "baby book" that I am working on. I used the Alphalicious and Create-A-Critter carts for the wording and Hero Arts' Fanciful Swirl Alphabet set for the stamped date. I'm trying to incorporate the K & Company's Itsy Bitsy Baby Boy stack into the whole album so it has some continuity.

An Opportunity To Put A Smile On A Face

One of my wonderful followers has asked if I would post the link for Cards for Olivia. This story just spoke to my heart. I don't know what I would do if any of my children ever had something serious happen to them. My prayers and thoughts of a quick recovery go out to Olivia and her family.

This is the card I sent to Olivia. I used the butterfly from Disney's Happily Ever After cart, a sentiment from My Creative Time's Just A Little Note To Say... set, Stickles, and a little baker's twine from Trendy Twine. I hope she likes it:-)

To find out how you can help, click on the Cards for Olivia link above. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creative day:-)

Embarrassed to say.....

... that I cannot find the fabulous follower who left me a wonderful comment and this Fabu blog award:

Could you PM me on my FB page and let me know if it is you? :-) I'm still searching through my comments hoping to find it.

Theme Day Thursday DT project

Today at My Cricut Craftroom is Theme Day Thursday! This weeks theme is DISNEY!!! Can you tell I'm Ã¼ber excited?! My family loves Disney. We bought into Disney's vacation club a few years back and use it almost every year!:-) The last time we were at Disney World I was pregnant with my 1yo. I can't wait to take him there in person:-)

For today I made a home décor project using the Mickey and Friends cart. I took a couple of canvas frames, painted them black and "Modge Podged" the cuts onto the painted canvas. The framed image was a little time consuming, I have to admit. I used my gypsy to weld the 3 different sized shadow icon images to a rectangle. Next, I matched up the regular sized icon images, cut them, then adhered them to the corresponding shadow. I'm going to be hanging these in our Disney themed "FROG" (finished room over garage).

To see all of the other Disney projects, please visit Erica's blog at My Cricut Craftroom. Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Tacky Tuesday DT Card

Yippee! It's time again for another Tacky Tuesday Challenge over at September Ninth! I just love this challenge, not just because I'm on the DT, but because everyone has such unique interpretations. It's just so darned fun seeing them all!

For my card I used the Chore Chart Cricut cartridge. I welded the square to make the card, adhered a strip of scrap PP, added a couple of buttons,  and popped up the layered dog cut. I printed my own sentiment on my Mac. I couldn't believe I didn't have one like this in my collection. Guess I'll be Googling for some dog sentiments this week:-) Dog Hop coming up:-)

Now click HERE to go right to Ruthie's blog and get all of the details for this month's challenge. Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day:-)

Theme Day Thursdays

Today over at My Cricut Craftroom is Theme Day Thursday...and the theme is FALL! It sure isn't fall here, today 91... and tomorrow 93?! Well, that's what is so nice about being in my own little crafting world:-) I can pretend it's anytime of the year to create my projects. It's September so the cooler weather can't be too far away (at least here in the Midwest). Here is my project for today, a CAS card. I used the B is for Boy lite cart along with card stock from Cloud 9, Bazzil, and Stampin' Up. The Distressed Stickles still isn't dry on the leaf so it looks a little 3D {I love Stickles} . I left the sentiment off so I can use it for anything later:-) {and I'm needin' a whole ton of birthday cards!} Thanks for stopping by:-) Have a super creative day!
